Josie: I’ve kissed guys, I just haven’t felt that thing. That moment when you kiss someone and everything around you becomes hazy, and the only thing in focus is you and this person, and you realise that, that person is the only person that you’re supposed to kiss for the rest of your life, and for one moment you get this amazing gift and you want to laugh and you want to cry because you feel so lucky that you found it and so scared that it will go away all at the same time.

Music’s the only thing that makes sense anymore. Play it loud enough, it keeps the demons at bay.

Here was Tom, in her world. A place few had been invited to see in their own eyes. And here was Summer, wanting him, no one else.

Ponyboy, I asked the nurse to give you this book so you could finish it. It’s worth saving those little kids, their lives are worth more than mine. They have more to live for. Tell Dallas I think it’s worth it. I’m gonna miss you guys. I’ve been thinking about it in that poem, that guy that wrote it. He meant you’re gold when you’re a kid. Like green. When you’re a kid everything’s new, dawn. Like the way you dig sunsets Pony, that’s gold. Keep it that way. It’s a good way to be. I want you to ask Dallas to look at one, I don’t think he’s ever seen a sunset. There’s still lots of good in the world. Tell Dallas, I don’t think he knows.
